Title:
Progress bar could be more friendly by telling user to "make tea" for
long operations.
Status in “plymouth” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
It would be nice if the plymouth progress bar could make a rough time
estimate and then provide some text advising the user. Currently it
progresses in percentages, and the user has to estimate time relative
to the percentage.
For example, on a machine with 1TB of disk space, a file system check
at boot can take several minutes. In such long periods it would be
nice to tell the user it will be "a few minutes" or even go so far as
to say to "Enough time to make a cup of your favourite hot beverage"
or some such.
