right, right =) yes it is running, ubiquity-dm starts it.

  Recently I started seeing this in syslog when launching ubiquity installer:

  Is colord really needed in the bare-minimal "install ubuntu" session?
  It was not loaded previously (e.g. early raring and previous
  releases). Or is it really necessary to load that now?

  It would interesting to trace what does activate it. I am randomly
  guessing gnome-settings-daemon ;-)
