Are there similar problems in recent releases of Ubuntu?

Note that Hardy or 8.04's desktop supporting cycle has been ended for
quite a while.

Title:
[hardy] openoffice.org-gtk should be automatically installed in
  Xubuntu

Status in “app-install-data-ubuntu” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: openoffice.org

When I used 'Add/Remove software' to add OO.Writer I later found that
it looked surprisingly ugly in my XFCE environment (menu fonts were
huge). Manually installing openoffice.org-gtk package fixed this.
