[Bug 1055023] [NEW] entry in /etc/grub.d/40_custom not listed in grub menu

Public bug reported:

windows 7 not found by os_prober so i created a custom entry in
40_custom.

the custom entry does not show up in the grub menu on reboot.

this may be a seperate bug but selecting the "advanced options for
ubuntu" menu option starts windows 7.
