I've just hit the same issue upon a latest batch of updates.
When I restarted OS upon the update and logged in, one of my two cores is at 100 % CPU.

Used SW:
-------------
Ubuntu 12.10 beta1 amd64
kernel: 3.5.0-15-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP
dbus: 1.6.4-1ubuntu1
xubuntu-desktop: 2.160

Title:
dbus-daemon eats 100 % of one core of the PC on 12.10

Status in “dbus” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I am using the 12.10 beta and noticed that after the updates released
with the 3.5.0.15 kernel and the restart, I always have one core fully
utilized by dbus-daemon. I am using xfce.
