Title:
  ubuntu installer is not welcoming

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
In the "Try Ubuntu" session there are two shortcuts (one on the dash
and one on the desktop) to install Ubuntu. When launched from those
shortcuts the welcome screen is empty and not welcoming at all. While
one can guess that the list on the left is for choosing language the
rest of the empty space is confusing. With network there is one
sentence visible, without network the screen is blank.

  See screenshots.
