Title:
  tzdata-java update breaks timezones

Status in “tzdata” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After recent apt dist-upgrade my Java programs are failing with errors
  about timezones e.g.

  java.lang.RuntimeException: org.apache.jasper.JasperException:
  javax.el.ELException: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find
resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key timezone.GMT

The links in /usr/share/javazi timezone files were pointing at nothing

  Workaround:
   apt-get install --reinstall tzdata-java
