Title:
Add Ubuntu version number to bootloader screen

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Currently, on Quantal, the default bootloader choice is simply
"Ubuntu". While I prefer the simplicity to what we had in previous
releases, there isn't really enough information for testers or power
users who have multiple Ubuntu installs (ie. stable and development or
  LTS & non-LTS).

I'd like to see "Ubuntu 12.10" or "Ubuntu 12.04 LTS".

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10
  Package: grub2-common 2.00-4ubuntu1
  ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-14.17-generic 3.5.3
  Uname: Linux 3.5.0-14-generic x86_64
  ApportVersion: 2.5.1-0ubuntu7
  Architecture: amd64
  Date: Fri Sep 14 12:38:49 2012
  SourcePackage: grub2
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
