Public bug reported:

I upgraded 10.04 to 12.04 via the LiveCD. Rebooting the PC gave no
access to any system, and a screen showing "unknow symbol grub_xputs"
error. Reinstalling GRUB in /dev/sda recovered GRUB and access to
Ubuntu. But the Windows entry in GRUB still does not work. My current
Boot-Info report (http://paste.ubuntu.com/1203471/) indicates that the
Upgrade-Manager installed GRUB in the PBR of the Windows partition,
which broke the boot of Windows
