I hit this issue multiple times trying to install 11-Sep quantal-
desktop-amd64.iso on a MacBookAir3,1. I tried to run "ubuntu-bug
ubiquity" multiple times and attach to this bug but my logs never
successfully attached to this bug.

Which logs from /var/log/installer would you need to see? After sitting
for an hour at "Copying installation logs..." I just did a sudo reboot
from the terminal and the system came back fine. I do appear to have a
set of logs in /var/log/installer.

Title:
ubiquity: stuck at "Copying installation logs..." message during
  installation

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Testing today's ISO image on an Lenovo X220i:

Image: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20120822/quantal-desktop-amd64.iso following ISO test case:
  Testcases:
      http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/219/builds/21646/testcases/1300/results
      http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/219/builds/21646/testcases/1305/results

I got almost to the end of the installation but it never completed.
The current message at the bottom of the installer screen is:

  "Copying installation logs..."

after 40 minutes I gave up waiting.

"vmstat 1" shows no I/O activity
"top" shows no installation processes busy, system looks idle.
