was sufficient to resolve my problem, IIRC. Unfortunately I don't
remember the details as it was a while ago.

Title:
  Cannot load librt.so

Status in “gcc-defaults” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/librt.so: could not read symbols: Invalid
  operation

  error occurs while building with g++. Similarly cannot load shared
  object files in Python (OSError occurs when importing the pacakages).
