Title:
casper doesn't configure GDM autologin correctly

Status in “casper” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
casper/scripts/casper-bottom/15autologin has code to enable autologin
in GDM. There's also code that tries to detect whether autologin has
already been enabled (such as by a persistent USB key that had been
booted once before). However in Quantal, the gdm configuration file
(/etc/gdm/custom.conf) has changed and the detection code is confused.

  Note the difference between

  http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-
  branches/ubuntu/precise/gdm/precise/view/head:/data/gdm.conf-custom.in

  and

  http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-
  branches/ubuntu/quantal/gdm/quantal/view/head:/data/gdm.conf-custom.in

I've got a merge proposal that I think can fix this.
