With 20120905.2 I actually see this working just fine, but I suspect
it's being affected by bug #1045491 giving the impression that it
doesn't work.  If I hover the mouse over one of the arrow controls on
the slideshow long enough, it will quit giving me the blinking busy icon
and give me a pointer instead.  When it does that,  I can click the
arrows and move through the slideshow just fine. (it sometimes takes a
while before you get that, and sometimes I also have luck by just
hovering over it and clicking a lot)
