some thing must have gone wrong in usb startup disk creation, making the

Bug description:
Quantal installation from a live session on a hardware, (such as the
one in the report) requires 8.6 GB free drive space to continue the
installation. On vm's this is shown as 4.8GB though, and on mac mini
for (amd64) that is shown as 5 GB
