I believe the string shown is external to ubiquity and maybe it comes
from debian-installer.

Certainly changing it to a more generic "Checking install media" would
be better.

** Also affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided

Title:
Ubiquity doesn't show correct media name

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
While installing Quantal Daily builds I noticed that at the slideshow
stage when ubiquity is actually installing Ubuntu, it shows the status
of what it is currently doing, like configuring apt, Retreiving file,
  etc.

But even when I install it using Live USB, it shows "Checking CD-ROM".
It should display "Checking Flash Drive" or something similar.

A screenshot is provided to make it clear.
