Title:
Installation process - move keyboard layout selection before
  cryptsetup

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hi,

I installed the new Ubuntu 12.10 Version on my computer and stumbled
  over an annoying bug.

On the installation process I checked the box to crypt my whole hard
disk. After this step I had to type in a password for the hard disk
encryption. So I did. After this the installation went through fine
BUT after the reboot I entered my hard disk encryption password and it
always said the password is wrong. I had no clue what this error
caused but now I think it failed because of the keyboard layout.

I have choosen the German keyboard layout but the installation hard
disk encryption step is BEFORE the user has to select a keyboard
layout. Therefore the keys I have pressed weren't the keys I entered
in the system. Besides of that there is no way in the installation
process to display the hd encryption password in cleartext.

I suggest to move the keyboard selection step before the user can
  configure the hard disk encryption.

  Thank you!
