[Bug 1072367] [NEW] Unable to re-intall on Lenovo T410 using external USB2 HDD

Public bug reported:

There were problemes on the previously installed Ubuntu 12.4 LTS on my external HDD (Maxell 500Gb, 80Gb system, 8GB swap, and NTFS for the rest of space).
The boot was from external HDD but after installing a new core about 2 months ago the system started to crash.
Today I wanted re-intall from CD (Ubuntu_12.04.1). After selecring the 'Remove and reinstall Ubuntu 12.04" option there were and error.
