Hi Drazen,

apport has sometimes interesting views on the thinks.

Anyway, we can do it manually.

In regards to this guide

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity

please attach (one by one - not compressed please):

/var/log/syslog
/var/log/partman
/var/log/installer

When done, please set the status of the report back to new.

Thank you and greetings

melchiaros

Title:
Ubiquity hangs during upgrade from a live USB

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
While updating from Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10 by booting a live USB and
choosing the upgrade existing installation option, the installer hangs
  while restoring previously installed packages.

I keep getting messages such as:

ubuntu AptDaemon: INFO: Quitting due to inactivity
  ubuntu AptDaemon: INFO: Initializing daemon

I tried to report the bug by running "ubuntu-bug ubiquity" on the
machine in question, but I was informed that ubiquity is not a part of
Ubuntu so I had to manually report this bug and no log files were
  collected.
