Public bug reported:
Downloaded 12.10 ISO to check video compatibility. Then started install
to upgrade 12.04 system. Backed out of install at user name input stage.
Install programming crashed. Then tried to book 12.04 from hard disk.
This went into Busy box. Rebooted 12.10. The option to upgrade had gone
from installed and the partition could not be mounted. Booted back to
12.04 Busy box and found that /etc appeared to be missing. Other root
directories seem to be intact.
** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
