ubuntu logo and dots appear and hangs on forever (?)
I had to shut it down and start from live CD every time

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  The installed Ubuntu uses LVM and has the lvm2 package installed. When
  installing grub-pc from chroot (via Boot-Repair, see
  http://paste.ubuntu.com/1287914 ), grub-install gives no error, and
  update-grub gives File descriptor errors. After reboot, GRUB menu does
  not appear.
