Bug description:
  = Test Case = 
  1. install precise
  2. use a language like german or french
  3. run sudo do-release-upgrade --fronted=DistUpgradeViewText
  4. on the "Forsetzen" (continue) prompt press "d"
  5. verify FAIL with a UnicodeEncodeError as seen below
  6. run sudo do-release-upgrade --proposed --frontend=DistUpgradeViewText
  7. repeat 4
  8. verify not FAIL

  I started
    sudo do-release-upgrade
  in 12.04. After downloading new packages list and generating changes it asked me if I want to proceed or see details.:

     Fortsetzen [j/N]  Details [d]

  I pressed 'd' and do-release-upgrade crashed with stack trace, see the
  attached  /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log
