I just performed an Lubuntu amd64 dist-upgrade test and did not see this
so it's likely hardware related.

This latest amd64 test that did NOT display this error was performed on
this hardware:

AMD Sempron Processor LE-1250 @ 2.2 GHz
nVidia C61 [GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a] (rev a2)
nVidia MCP61 High Definition Audio (rev a2)
nVidia MCP61 Ethernet (rev a2)
2GB DDR2 RAM

All of the tests that did display this error using the i386 image were
performed on this hardware:

Intel Atom CPU 230 @ 1.60GHz
Intel 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
Intel N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
Realtek RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 02)
2GB DDR2 RAM

I hope that info is helpful.

Title:
Disk drive for /tmp error displayed briefly after Lubuntu PP -> QQ
  dist-upgrade

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This error appears very briefly (10 to 15 seconds) when booting the OS
after upgrading from Lubuntu i386 Precise to Lubuntu i386 Quantal.
Please see the attached picture - sorry it's a bit blurry.

It only appears during the first boot after upgrade, thereafter
Lubuntu boots fine, so I don't think it's serious but I wanted to
create a bug report so Phill and Julien could decide if it should be
  mentioned in the release notes.

Should they choose to add a note to the release notes I can absolutely
say that if the user just waits rather than pressing any keys the
initial boot is successful and, as I previously said, it does not
  appear thereafter.
