in that case, the vesafb module should not have been loaded.  Your udev
log shows:

This means that the radeon driver was correctly loaded by udev
coldplugging, and should have caused /etc/init/udev-fallback-
graphics.conf to not try to load the vesafb driver.

Can you please show the output of the following command:

   sudo grep -rl vesafb /etc 2>/dev/null

Also, could you please boot with --verbose appended to your kernel
command line, then run 'dmesg > dmesg.log', and attach the resulting
file?
