None of these Required sources are available on the server.
I just read a posting of two other people who have followed the trail of
missing Requirements three levels further, to no avail.
Is there some way to disable the current installation and install as new
machine ?
I have no essential data on the machine, so a wipe of system would not be a
problem.
Were I to wipe the drive(somehow) would the ISO disk self install a new
desktop ?

Title:
downloaded disk will not auto-run on startup.
Status in “installation-guide” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I have Ubuntu 6.6 on an old hp machine, formerly a win2000 machine.
No matter the boot sequence settings for start-up, only 6.6 runs. The Downloaded install disk will not initiate installation.
Apparently 6.6 is too old to update, or allow the new version to take
over.
What do I do ? I am not proficient enough to manually install via the
boot sector. I cannot even find gparted.
