Can you retest this with recent images? Post 2012-10-03 ? bug 1030278
was fixed and maybe is the reason your installation failed.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  towards the end of the of the install, the last set of packages start to download and in the case of network failure, the installer is unable to recover (let alone retry) and eventually crashes.
  also, during sending of crash report, the password too is included, this is scary.
