I had the same problem with a Live session with persistance. The first
boot was all right, but during the second boot, as the system remembers
wifi settings from previous session, it prompt for the password before
the ubiquity screen appears. As I clicked to "ignore certificate" (I
assume I and Cristopher are using the same authentication method)
ubiquity crashed.

  Occurred after I tried to install Ubuntu Quantal using the desktop
  link, and a wireless network dialog appearing asking me for my
  password again. The installer never appeared.
