Title:
gparted fails to complete due to volume manger

Status in Gnome Partition Editor:
  Fix Released
Status in “gparted” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunar

This is in intrepid, but I've seen this in every release since feisty.

  Steps to reproduce (from memory):
  1. Boot up a system which has partitions on the xubuntu live disc.
  2. Applications->System->Partition Editor
  3. Observe the instances of thunar on the now mounted partitions.

When gparted refreshes copies partitions or creates new partitions the
Volume Management kicks in and mounts them.

This causes gparted to stop on a fail (e.g. when it tries to fsck
  them).

This is while using the live disc, so I would expect some default to stop this from happening, rather than me having to disable volume management manually.
-How is the novice/windows user expected to know this?

It usually catches me out on a long job run overnight which is
  annoying.

I prefer to use xubuntu rather than (e.g.) ubuntu since the desktop is
lightweight and perfect for partition shuffling.
