For every architecture we care about, ld.so.cache has unique tagging.

Title:
ld.so.cache is not ready for multiarch

Status in “eglibc” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
which libc6 is Multi-Arch: same, the /etc/ld.so.cache file is not ready for multiarch. The file should be moved/renamed to
/etc/ld.so.<multiarch>.cache (maybe move it to /run at the same time?).

ldconfig should be extended to handle multiple cache files on the
  system.

The alternative could be to extend the format of the cache to be aware
of multiple architectures (it already handles this for 32/64 bit
  libraries).
