Public bug reported:

I was close to completing an LVM install of Ubuntu 12.04 and had
forgotten to point grub-install to /dev/sda. It reported failure to
install to /dev/sdc (the device I booted the live install from) and
asked me for further instructions. I pointed it to /dev/sda and
continued. I was given the "installation complete... continue testing?
or reboot?" when grub-install claimed to have crashed... I nervously
wait till I've installed lvm2 in the chroot final instance and reboot to
find if it has failed...
