Marking incomplete, can you please retry on 12.04 or 12.10, I'm pretty
sure that part of the code changed a lot these past few years ;)

Thanks

Title:
Desktop CD fails to find media

Status in “casper” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: casper

When booting the Kubuntu-Hardy-amd64 daily desktop CD (2008-04-15),
both the defects check and booting the live Cd fail to find the CD
media. The boot process stops on the busybox command line. At that
state the isofs module is not loaded. I can load that module manually
and then mount the CD. So the kernel detects the drive.

  Hardware:
  MB: ASUS A8N-SLI
  CPU: AMD64 3200+
  Drive: Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1612 (atapi)

  casper.log does not reveal much:
/init: /init: 1: cannot open /dev/fd0: No such device or address
  <repeated several times>
Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

Note: Whenever I also turned on another (scsi) CD-ROM drive (only
turned it on, the CD remained in the other driver), I have not seen
this failure. The same applies when starting the live-session. SCSI
drive turned off gives trouble. With that drive turned on, everything
  works.
