Moving to the kernel, sounds like a KMS issue with nouveau, nothing
casper can do here.

** Package changed: casper (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu)

Title:
screen goes blank when booting to live environment with some nouveau
  Graphics Cards

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
When I boot up from the ubuntu 10.04 alpha 3 live cd the screen goes
blank after clicking "try ubuntu without installing". This also
happens when I try to boot after installing. I believe this has
something to do with the switch to nouveau as the default video driver
for nvidia chips because I have the same problem when trying to boot
Fedora, which uses nouveau by default as well. Booting 9.10 and
earlier causes no problems except I have to adjust the screen
resolution each time I boot up. I have a nvidia Geforce 6200 video
card and am using a 2003 HP desktop attached to a 42'' LCD monitor (TV
  really).

  == Regression details ==
Discovered in version: Development version Lucid Lynx; verified in Ubuntu 10.04
Last known good version: Ubuntu 9.10
