Public bug reported:

Basically, if a user hits the power button and clicks suspend, or clicks
on the shutdown icon then selects suspend, the request is never
processed and the laptop does nothing.

IF SUPPORT IS NOT WORKING (the OS detects a problem with the acpi
configuration, or with the suspend feature), IT SHOULD BE GRAYED OUT AND
DISABLED.
