Just changed the bug to the correct target: ubiquity-frontend-kde.

Title:
kubuntu 12.10 installer partitioned the internal disk after selection
of the external one - and without request for confirmation or way to
  abort

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I started the laptop with a USB-Stick created with unetbooting from
  the kubuntu 12.10 image.

  Then I selected “Install Kubuntu”.

When I was presented with the disk-selection dialog, I plugged in the
external disk. It showed up and I selected it in the drop-down menu.

Suddenly the screen flickered and the installer asked me to provide
personal information while showing “partitioning disk” and “ext4
[something]” above with no abort button.

I provided the personal information, hoping that the installer just
skipped confirmation, because the external disk was unpartitioned.

When the installer finished, I got into KDE and checked the used disk.
To my horror I realized that the installer had repartitioned the
internal disk, erasing all data in the progress.

Now I’m running testdisk to recover the user data.

This is a critical bug and might have caused permanent deletion of
personal data. And it could scar users forever, so they would never
let any *buntu near their computer again.
