[Bug 1077001] [NEW] update manager fails to proceed using UBUNTU 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx

Public bug reported:

It fails to update for several weeks now, sending this information:

'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be
caused by held packages.'

Upgrade to 12.04.1 also failed due to packaes unresolved... 
What can I do?
