Public bug reported:

I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 on Asus X501A
(http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Versatile_Performance/X501A/).

But function keys for setting display brightness are not working. When I
press them, nothing happens.

In addition, when I change brightness from Brightness and Lock window,
it is not persisted, but reset to maximum after system restart.

** Affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
