I'm just going to drop a mention of http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=469354 in here, since I think it may be related
and maybe somebody will find it useful.  However, it's not clear to me
that resolving that would make the crashes go away; it might well just
move them.
