Bug description:
  Installing upgrade for 12.4.  Got message,"Could not install 'Update-
  notifier-common' ", subprocess installed post-installation script
  returned error exit status 1.  I was running Ubuntu 11.10 on a nVIDIA
  nForce4 mainboard for AMD Socket 939 based Athlon 64 processor.
