Title:
update-manager -d fails and request I send a bug report
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I run update-manager -d to upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS (as per
lsb_release) t0 12.04 LTS
During 'Setting new software channels' (calculating the changes) I'm
told :
------
Could not determine the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug update-manager' in a terminal.
------
I've removed every 3rd party repository from my sources (via software
sources). I don't believe I'm running a pre-release version and I
certainly don't want to upgrade to one.
