Could this be triggered by me being away from the computer for long
enough to make the dialog for /etc/update-manager/ updating (I had it
set to  "Prompt=normal") give a timeout? I did get the dialog though,
and the file was updated.

Bug description:
  During the Distribution Upgrade process from 11.10 I got this error
  message. Since the upgrade is still in progress, I don't yet know what
  this effectively means. Will update information after install is done.
