I suspect this issue no longer affects you, since it's gone two years
with no follow-up. mountall should certainly never mount a filesystem
read-only when it's marked for rw mount in /etc/fstab. Perhaps this was
due to bad sectors on the /home partition causing it to be remounted?
Can you attach a dmesg from an affected session?

Title:
home partition mounted read-only after resume

Status in “mountall” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: mountall

Occasionally when resuming from suspend, my /home partition will be
mounted as read-only. I can write to my / partition (on the same
drive) as normal, leading me to believe it's not a hardware issue.
Rebooting the machine seems to clear up the issue.

I have not determined what set of circumstances will reproduce the
issue, but it has happened to me at least 3 times since installing the
Lucid beta (perhaps 6 weeks ago). Please let me know what information
I can collect to make debugging easier. I think this is a mountall
bug, but I am not certain.
