Is this still an issue in 12.04 LTS? If so, please attach /var/log/udev
from the affected system, and also attach the output of mountall
--verbose.
> It seems that blkid don't recognize NILFS
This shouldn't matter for the original bug; mountall doesn't care about
whether blkid knows the filesystem type, and the fstab shown is mounted
by /dev/mapper so blkid doesn't even need to get the UUID.

Title:
mountall hangs on nilfs2 mount
Status in “mountall” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: mountall
I use nilfs2 as a filesystem on a lv , and a line like:
/dev/mapper/rootvg-ganglialv /var/lib/ganglia nilfs2 defaults 0 0
in fstab.
mountall hangs when trying to mount that filesystem.
dpkg -l nilfs-tools
ii nilfs-tools 2.0.15-1 Continuous Snapshotting Log-structured Filesystem
If i abort the attempt to mount it by pressing S at the console i can mount it manualy both with
mount /var/lib/ganglia or mount -a
