-> the ISO on your installation CD appears to be an old beta version,
can you get final official ISO release from www.ubuntu.com, burn it on a
CD or create a live USB, try again, and let us know if it works ?

For your reference, final official ISO release should log after fresh install as :
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425)
