I'm not seeing this problem in recent releases. Based on comment #4 it
sounds like it was a bios bug anyway, so I'm marking this invalid.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: acpid

  I have a brand new Acer aspire one D250-1148. Power management works
  well in WinXP. But on ubuntu NR 9.10 it automatically suspends when AC
  is unplugged. when I try to power on it goes back to suspend
  automatically....
