the same install media worked perfectly on a D610 last week. This
machine had Ubuntu 10.10, installer asked to upgrade to Lubuntu 12.04
Seemed to go OK until first run, then nothing work, couldn't identify
existing system, had to do new install, repartition etc

Bug description:
  installing from USB stick. Initially an upgrade, but that failed so had to do new install.
  fails after inputting locale, keyboard, name, pword etc
  box says 'detecting hardware' then an error report with lots of packages listed.
