[Bug 973670] Re: Precise Installer: US mirror not listed

As I wrote this was a network install so there is no install media.
/var/log/installer/syslog only has stuff from December last year.

It is also worth mentioning that as far as I can tell Canonical don't
actually run any machines in the US. If I do a traceroute on any of the
IP addresses returned for us.archive.ubuntu.com then the results are all
machines in London.

Title:
Precise Installer: US mirror not listed

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Trying Precise with a network boot (text mode) and current as of a few
minutes ago. I set my country/keyboard to US. On the screen where
you are supposed to select a mirror I get two choices:

    archive.ubuntu.com
    gb.archive.ubuntu.com

Given that us.archive.ubuntu.com exists, I'm in the US and configured
as such, and that the US is a significant country,
us.archive.ubuntu.com should be listed and be the default.
