[Bug 990093] [NEW] ubuntu 12.04 installs MBR on USB. On USB Stick installation

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When you install ubuntu 12.04 from USB stick (USB stick was created
following the ubuntu.com steps) it installs the MBR on the USB stick
itself. Computer wont boot up, it stays on a black screen with the
following symbol "_"

You need to boot up with the USB attached to the computer and then
reinstall grub in order to fix the issue.
