[Bug 998624] [NEW] I cannot mount a particular cd-rom normally

Public bug reported:

When I stick a particular cd into my computer, Ubuntu is not mounting
it. (Most CDs work, not this one though.)

If I try on the command line:
chris at dellie-linux:~$ sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/sr0 /home/chris/testing
[sudo] password for chris:
mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so

same message with
chris at dellie-linux:~$ sudo mount /dev/sr0 /home/chris/testing

In the syslog
May 12 22:34:18 dellie-linux kernel: [ 2237.212710] ISOFS: Unable to identify CD-ROM format.

But the following works to mount the cd

chris at dellie-linux:~$ sudo mount -o loop /dev/sr0 /home/chris/testing/
[sudo] password for chris:
chris at dellie-linux:~$ cd /home/chris/testing
chris at dellie-linux:~/testing$ ls
autorun.inf garden.exe garden.pdf Lessons Photos readme.txt

in the syslog:
May 12 22:42:11 dellie-linux kernel: [ 2709.805765] ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 1
May 12 22:42:11 dellie-linux kernel: [ 2709.805987] ISOFS: changing to secondary root

The cd mounts normally on another computer running osX and it says the
cd's filesystem is Joliet.
