Title:
Resolvconf won't install if etc is on reiserfs

Status in “resolvconf” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When upgrading my machine to 12.04LTS resolvconf failed to install
  with an error

lsattr: Operation not supported While reading flags on
  /etc/resolv.conf

I tracked this down to my / filesystem being on reiserfs which doesn't
support lsattr. I managed to get resolvconf to install by commenting
out the call to is_immutable_file in the postinst file. The
is_immutable_file needs to be guarded so that if the lsattr operation
isn't available it returns false (as the file can't be marked
immutable if the filesystem doesn't support extended attributes)
