Public bug reported:
When updating Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04, in the phase "Installing the
upgrades", the first step is to upgrade the libc6 package. However, it
asks for user input in the terminal, and there is no obvious indicator
of this to the user. So, unless the user expands the Terminal view, the
updater seems to hang indefinitely.
This is a big problems because many inexperienced users will see this as
a crash of the updater and will not know what to do. The updater should
be as automatic as possible, and if user input is really needed it
should be clear and gui based.
** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
