The problem of the install crashing is NOT invalid.  It may be something odd with this one report but look here....

There are dozens who are getting nowhere trying to install 12.04, (it seems in both Ubuntu & Xubuntu flavours) and getting the error message reported here.

I can run the Live version with no problems,  the crash only happens
when I try to install.  Both from DVD or USB (and YES I've verified the
md5).

This needs fixed.

Bug description:
  I really don't know what happens. While installing "xubuntu 12.04",
  towards the end of installation I was informed that the installer
  crashed. I think the program generated a report file for this issue
  before I was forwarded to Launchpad.
